On December 11th in France in the presence of His Excellence Mamuka Kudava Ambassador of Georgia and George Karbelashvili - Deputy Minister of The Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia and the Chairmen of Supervisory Council of Georgian Air Navigation Services -  “Sakaeronavigatsia” Ltd. and Thales signed a contract for the replacement of both primary and secondary radars at Tbilisi international airport, Georgia.

 

 

 

Thales, which has built a solid partnership with the Georgian Air Navigation since 2004, is already a major provider of ATC systems in the country. The implementation of the new radar system scheduled for spring 2009 will provide complete airspace security around Tbilisi.


The contract follows the recent signature of a financial protocol between Georgian and French governments. On the 24th November, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Georgia and Minister of Foreign Trade of France signed a financial protocol in Tbilisi, which aims at ensuring the development of Georgia’s facilities and supporting the local industry in the modernisation of ATC systems.
